How much time should we wait to stop a trade?

<p>Immediately. If you are winning on trades only every now and then you do not have the proper understanding of the skill you are trying to develop. First rule of trading (I trade Options &amp; stock), protect your capital - you are failing at this. Decide what kind of trader you want to be. A stock trader? Do you want to scalp, day trade, or swing trade? Options? there are many strategies to learn before jumping in. I could go on for a very long time but here is the advice, read trading books by reputable traders. Understand what you read. Learn strategies and start working on a system: you have to be consistent with how you choose trades, how &amp; when you follow up, and all other trading decisions - you can’t just ‘wing it’. Plan your trades and trade your plan. Paper trade on a platform like ‘Think or Swim’ (only one I recommend) which was Ameritrade but is now Schwab. I don’t care if you don’t like Schwab, this is the trading platform you need to use. Paper trade for at least a year. You MUST treat this time period as if you are really trading.<br></p>
